Alexis Bryant

Alexis (she/her) (RYT200) is passionate about helping students feel grounded, connected, and present through their yoga practice. A Montgomery County native, Alexis played Division I soccer at Boston College and first discovered yoga in college to complement her training regimen.

Yoga has been her tool to challenge and harness both body and mind. Alexis believes yoga is not about extreme flexibility or perfect poses but about connecting deeply with yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally while being fully present in each movement.

Off the mat, she enjoys staying active, being outdoors, and spending time with friends and family. Her favorite poses are those that inspire both balance and strength.

Alyson Gluecksmann

Alyson began practicing yoga in her early 20s to manage the stress of work and running. When she became a mom, yoga evolved into a meaningful practice for self-care, resilience, and balance.

For more than 15 years, Alyson has been dedicated to the study and teaching of yoga. She completed her 200-hour training at Inner Strength Studios in Boston, a 500-hour training with David Vendetti through the Yoga Liberation Front, and a 300-hour training at Thrive Yoga. She has taught over 3,000 hours and continues her education in sequencing, prenatal yoga, yin, therapeutic yoga, and myofascial release.

In her classes, Alyson empowers students to feel strong, grounded, and adaptable while encouraging curiosity, self-reflection, and a sense of humor when things feel challenging.

Angelina Frisch

Angelina found yoga after a rock climbing injury and fell in love. She has been practicing at Thrive since 2011. Her continuing education includes prenatal yoga, applied anatomy, partner yoga therapy, Yoga Nidra, deep stretch, and yoga therapy applications.

As a teacher, Angelina strives to provide a grounded practice that helps students tune into the sensations of their body and their present moment experience. She is especially passionate about blending Yoga Nidra with art-making.

Off the mat, Angelina works in Crisis and Suicide Prevention for a local nonprofit organization. She loves spending time in nature, with her family and pets, and making art a daily practice.

Elizabeth Elliott

Liz (she/her), RYT 500, completed her 300-hour training at Thrive Yoga, blending her background in dance with a deep commitment to healing from her career as a Registered Nurse.

As a Yoga Anatomy specialist and teacher trainer at Thrive, she makes complex physiological ideas accessible by connecting anatomical concepts directly to movement on the mat. She mentors teacher trainees and studio students alike to deepen their awareness of alignment and energy, providing the expert guidance needed to master the human form.

Liz’s classes connect breath to movement, offering an invitation to find gratitude and uplift the spirit through fun, intentional practice. Students can expect gentle encouragement to improve flexibility and strength while deepening concentration.

Certified in Reiki (Levels 1 & 2), Sound Healing, Yin, and Restorative Yoga, Liz is a lifelong learner who holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Nursing from the University of Maryland.

When not reading a yoga book or attending workshops, Liz swims with the US Masters Swim Club and enjoys life with her husband, two cats, and two adult daughters.

Felicia Piacente

Felicia took her first yoga class in 2006 and immediately found what she was looking for: a physical challenge, spiritual comfort, and relaxing aftereffects. She subsequently completed her 200- and 300-hour teacher trainings at Thrive.

Felicia teaches hot vinyasa and core vinyasa classes and excels at breaking things down for beginners. As a lifelong teacher, her passion and expertise shine through in all of her offerings, including her development and mentoring of teacher trainees.

Felicia has been teaching exclusively at Thrive since 2009 and is passionate about balance, inner peace, revitalization, and the meditative properties of knitting.

Gi Meyer

Gi found yoga during a dark time in her life, and it became the beginning of an eye-opening and healing journey. She has since made it her mission to help people find their way, learn to love themselves, and discover that they can do things they did not think possible.

Gi specializes in beginner- and plus-size-friendly sequences that help students see that all bodies can do yoga. Students can expect slower-paced classes that honor the body and leave them feeling more uplifted than when they walked in.

Outside of yoga, Gi enjoys playing video games and creating ASMR content for TikTok.

Jane Stelboum

Jane was introduced to yoga and meditation as a child by her mother, an experience that remains deeply meaningful to her. While yoga was always part of her life, it was not until she found Thrive that the practice became fully integrated into how she lives and teaches.

Jane trained at Duke University’s Integrative Yoga for Seniors program and is a certified Brain Longevity® Specialist through the Alzheimer’s Research and Prevention Foundation. In 2012, she founded Sarasvate, Yoga Designed for the Brain, a program focused on supporting brain health and minimizing the risk of Alzheimer’s disease.

Jane’s classes emphasize felt alignment and embodied awareness, with breath guiding movement and attention. Her teaching style is challenging yet accessible, incorporating music, gongs, singing bowls, yogic philosophy, meaningful themes, and hands-on assists.

Mary Rivas

Mary signed up for her first in-studio yoga class five years ago to help relieve prenatal issues during pregnancy and was immediately hooked. She loves coming into the studio for class and continues to find inspiration for her fun vinyasa sequencing through time spent playing on her mat at home.

Her vinyasa classes have been influenced by former years of ballet and a natural love for being upside down. Students can expect a strong, dynamic flow with opportunities for advanced posture play.

Mary aims to bring body awareness and empowerment to every student, from curious beginners to seasoned yogis.

Meg Flannery

Meg discovered the healing power of Yoga Nidra in her early teen years as a refuge from chronic insomnia and pain. While studying psychology in college, a deeper exploration of the Yamas and Niyamas revealed her calling to share yoga as a tool for greater ease, joy, and well-being.

Meg specializes in restorative wellness and parasympathetic nervous system activation, helping students move out of fight-or-flight and into a state of deep physiological safety.

Her teaching integrates aromatherapy, breathwork, meditation, sound healing, crystal healing, somatic movement, and the playful practice of Aerial Yoga.

Nick Pham

Nick embraced dance and movement at 13 as a way to heal from teen bullying and depression. Their journey has led them through many movement arts, including powerlifting, funk culture, flow arts, and fire flow.

After an injury in 2014, Nick found yoga at Thrive and was drawn into the healing power of yoga, meditation, and intentional movement. Thrive became more than a studio: it became the place where Nick practiced, joined the front desk team, and became a teacher in 2017.

Nick’s classes are creative explorations of movement as a path toward healing, self-expression, and embodied power. They offer brave spaces where students can reconnect with themselves, explore their edges, and step into their wholeness.

Sarah Park

Sarah started practicing yoga in 2000 to alleviate chronic pain and tension. Her continued study and practice of the many facets of yoga are an ongoing exploration of body, mind, and spirit.

Rooted in deep appreciation for the sustaining and transformative power of yoga, Sarah’s classes are infused with sensitivity and joy. She has additional training in Trauma Sensitive Yoga, Pranayama, Yoga Therapeutics, and Prenatal Yoga.

Sarah is also part of Thrive’s front desk team and is happy to assist students both on and off the mat. Outside the studio, she enjoys hiking and relaxing with her dogs and two teenagers.

Scott Taylor

Scott (RYT200) began his relationship with yoga at eight through Kundalini and Hatha yoga. In 2016, he completed his 200-hour teacher training at Sid Yoga in Towson under Sid McNairy, “Baba Sid,” whose teachings continue to shape how he practices, teaches, and lives. Scott continued into advanced studies and later into teacher training and mentorship alongside Sid.

Scott teaches across styles, from strong, creative flow to restorative yoga, believing different practices can be doorways for different chapters of life. He values the lineage and purpose of each style and wants students to leave more connected to themselves.

Outside the studio, Scott is a professional musician, DJ, producer, and visual artist. His background, which includes touring with Enrique Iglesias, naturally finds its way into his classes through music, rhythm, and pacing. He also loves bonsai, gardening, nature, and time outside with his two daughters.

Shree Shrestha

Shree (she/her), (RYT200) was born and raised in Kathmandu, capital city of Nepal, which is rich in spiritual tradition and heritage. She was first introduced to yoga by her mother at an age when she was full of energy, and thus couldn’t keep calm.

It wasn’t until she had to navigate the demands of corporate life in America that she decided to introduce yoga back into her life. After taking yoga and meditation classes and workshops at Thrive Yoga for a year and experiencing positive shifts, Shree was inspired to join Thrive’s 200-hour teacher training program.

Shree regularly incorporates yoga asana, pranayama (breathwork), and dhyana (meditation) practices to keep calm amidst the chaos and carry on. As a teacher, she loves to guide her students to practice with clear intention and to help students restore a sense of calm.
