In this 4 part series, we’ll explore the 5th limb of yoga as taught by Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras: Pratyahara. Pratyahara is a conscious withdrawal of energy from the senses. It’s used as the cosmic bridge that moves the devoted yogi from asana and pranayama to meditation and Samadhi (bliss).

Take a moment to let go of all the noise of our fast-paced, hectic, modern lives and tune into the unknown within you.

In this 4 part series, we will…

  • Bring an awareness/focus to every part of our body to induce a more conscious state of being
  • Explore the realm of 5 senses in creative and delicious things
  • Experience guided visualization meditations for oneness
  • Use Mudras (hand positions) for focused attention

Cheryl is certified 500 hours, having completed her 200 and 300-hour Teacher Training at Thrive. Cheryl is also certified in Reiki Levels I + II. Having tried yoga to heal herself and find self-acceptance and peace of mind, Cheryl found Thrive within a few months of its opening and has been a regular ever since. “Thrive is a home away from home,” having provided a safe place and supportive community to get through some very challenging life events. Cheryl teaches from a place of mindfulness and intuition, believing one should honor where they are physically and emotionally at any given moment, listening to their body and using their senses as a guide. Cheryl lives her life from her heart and this comes through in her practice.
