Yoga Nidra & Self Expression with Angelina Frisch Sat, Sep 23, 2017 at 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
$35 | $29 Early Bird by September 9

Yoga Nidra and Self Expression
Join us for a 2-hour deeply restful and insightful practice with artist and yogi, Angelina. Leave refreshed and grounded in truth.
Yoga nidra and self-expression are two practices that enhance communication between the conscious and subconscious mind, leading to higher levels of awareness. During the yoga nidra practice, our bodies are resting while our mind maintains a one-pointed awareness. During the self-expression exercises (art-making; journaling and goal setting) our bodies are fully awake and actively functioning while our conscious self creates from the depth of who we are. When your conscious mind is able to dialogue with deeper aspects of self, subconscious enlightenment has the potential to occur—leading to conscious integration. You will be taken through yoga nidra meditations and visualizations asking you to identify with, feel, explore, and observe your internal space. After the nidra practice, you will use journaling and art materials to enhance feelings, colors, qualities, messages, and images present in your experience.

Level 1 Thai Yoga Massage Certification (credited through Spiritual Essence)

October 7 and 8
9:00 am - 5:00 pm, daily. (One hour lunch break and other breaks included)

Thai Yoga Massage (Nuad Pan Boran) is an ancient form of therapeutic healing. Born in the temples of Thailand, it has been around for over 2,500 years. It combines acupressure, energy/meridian balancing, stretching, and gentle yoga asanas (postures) in order to align the energies of the body for optimal health and wellness.
Thai Yoga Massage is based on a yoga tradition that vital energy (prana) flows through a series of channels in the human energy body. It is believed that stress and disease are caused by blockages in that energy flow and the aim of the bodywork is to release those blockages, restore equilibrium and harmony, and promote a return to good health.

This training is open to everyone – no prior bodywork or yoga experience is required. Our course is approved by the National Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NBTMB) to offer 36 Continuing Education Credits (CECs).

In this course students will learn:

  • How to perform a fully balanced 1 ½ – 2-hour Thai Yoga Massage session
  • The history and principles of Thai Yoga Massage
  • The major Sen Lines massaged during a session
  • Gentle yoga stretches and meditation techniques to avoid burnout/injury
  • Modifications for clients with certain limitations and/or health concerns
  • Proper body alignment and how to work with different body types safely

“There is a way between voice and presence
where information flows.
In disciplined silence it opens.
With wandering talk it closes.”
—Rumi

When we chant in a circle, it is like a devotional singing lovefest - opening the heart by chanting in Sanskrit and English, with periods of meditation in between, honoring the many aspects of the Divine. The goal is to touch the stillness within, and the magic of chanting to the Vedic deities - Krishna, Ram, Shiva, Divine Mother, etc. - awakens energy from within that is healing, blessed, and filled with grace. We all are our own best friends!

Join Rufus Juskus, along with a few volunteer percussionists, for a community gathering in song, dance, and devotion. No matter what religion, what persuasion, or what label is attached, we are all in the same boat, going in the same direction, singing to the same Power that lives in us all!
