The ThriveStyle Kriya Yoga Series with Susan Mondi Bowen was uniquely created by blending Kriya practices across yoga traditions such as Hatha, Kundalini, and Tantra, with self-awareness and subconscious reprogramming techniques. Students will feel more joyful after practice and be amazed at seeing positive shifts in their daily life.

Kriya Yoga: Kriya in Sanskrit literally means “to do”; the action or practice of mind and body simultaneously to create oneness or equanimity. Kriya “sets” are designed to raise shakti (sacred and creative force), resulting in a greater sense of awakeness and peace. When the mind-body is balanced and we are present, we can shift patterning that causes us suffering. We become more carefree and excited by life.

In a Kriya Yoga, you will explore several Kriya Yoga sets (actions) with an intended result. Each Kriya set will be instructed and demonstrated for the class. Including:

  • Technical details of the breathing and retention of breath
  • Bandhas, or body locks, and releases to direct energy
  • Posture alignment
  • Drishti or focus points
  • Meditation and mantra-mind placement in chakras or repetitive sounding, like “Ham Sa”
  • Rest

 The practice often ends with a longer savasana or Sound Bath with crystal bowls, gongs and chimes.

This 4-week series will include:

  • 4 Kriya Yoga classes and personal attention with each student to refine the practice to suit their individual needs
Week One: Beginners Practice
Beginners Kriya Practice including 3 Kriya Sets with modifications and feedback. Kriya sets will include intention setting, pranayama, asanas, pratayahara (sense withdrawal), meditation, and savasana with Sound Bath.Week Two: Root Chakra-Patience and Trust
Root Chakra Kriya Practice designed to calm overactivity and cultivate patience and trust.Week Three: Action and Passion
Connect to action and passion by releasing the blocks that hold you back for living life to the fullest. Center yourself from your heart and experience an expanded sense of love of life.Week Four: Connecting to your Imagination and Higher-Self
If you can dream it, it shall be. Practice sets are designed to stimulate desire and imagination. Meditation practices will include a guided inner journey of your higher-self.
