Thai Yoga massage is a unique healing modality that incorporates Hatha Yoga and acupressure to stretch the muscles and open the joints. This safe, holistic treatment harmonizes the body, increases energy, relieves stress, and promotes a peaceful mind. Participants in this training, upon completion, will be certified to give Thai massage treatments to clients.
LEVEL 1: Foundation of Thai Body Treatments
During the first part of this training, we have the opportunity to ask frequently brought up questions about the practices or general mechanics of the Thai Body Treatment’s postures. This will provide a base on which to build your practice. We will introduce all subjects with a concentration on the hands-on techniques, thumbing the major Sen Lines of the arms and legs with beginning assisted yoga postures.
  • Learn Essential Posture Variations for Front Position (feet to face), Side-lying, and Seated massage
  • Introduce the concept of energy lines (SEN) and Yin/Yang
  • Explore the teachings of stretches, acupressure points, and proper use of body weight using thumbs, palms, elbows, knees, and feet
  • Emphasize deep focused abdominal (Hara) work
  • Upon completion of this weekend, students will be able to perform an effective 1 to 1 ½ hour Thai Body Treatment.

Level 2: Intermediate Thai Body Treatment
During the second part, we will build upon the information and foundation from Part 1. We will introduce topics such as larger assisted yoga stretches, with shoulder mobilization options; series for the neck, head, and face; and Thai culture.
  • Expands on the techniques learned in Level 1 to cover the Side, Back (Prone), and Sitting Positions
  • Explore advanced yoga-like stretching movements
Upon completion, students will have a substantial foundation of the major positions of Thai Body Treatment and can expect to perform a comprehensive 1 ½ to 3 hour Thai Body Treatment.
