HONOR SACRED SPACE
These guidelines are to help enhance our yoga experience and keep the center a sacred space for all. Namaste.

  • Arrive 5-10 minutes before class. If you do arrive late, take a breath and enter the practice room as quietly as you can.

  • Leave cellphones and pagers in your car. Sooner or later, you will forget to turn off the ringer! Please give yourself and others the gift of being in a cell-free zone.

  • Remove your shoes. There will be a place to store your shoes and other items when you enter.

  • Avoid heavy perfume/cologne.

  • Practice on an empty stomach. We recommend that you do not eat 2-3 hours before practice. If you have a special condition, eat easily digestible foods, such as fruit or yogurt one hour before class.

  • Mention any injuries or special conditions to your teacher at the beginning of class.

  • Purchase your own yoga mat! We do have clean mats available for rental, however, it is ulitmately more hygienic to use your own. Visit our boutique to purchase non-slip yoga mats.

  • Focus on YOUR practice. Wandering eyes will take away from your yoga experience. We thrive when we practice in a room of non-judgmental, authentic, and present beings. Do your part.

  • Let go of the competitive mind-set. Yoga is not just a workout or stretch class. While this practice will reshape your body and promote greater health and well-being, yoga is ultimately a tool for spiritual evolution to open our hearts and broaden our minds.

  • Start where you are. Respect your body. Yoga is a practice of ahimsa or non-violence. Be willing to accept where you are, how you are today. It is perfect.

  • Avoid leaving class early. If you must, do so quietly before savasana or final resting pose without disturbing others.

  • ENJOY your practice. Here at Thrive, we take the practice seriously, but take ourselves lightly.
