Generally, what Americans think of when you say “yoga”. The origins of the word are Sanskrit and refer to the joining of the physical with the spiritual or (subtle body-chakras). Since Sanskrit was a language of sounds and experiences, Hatha is also though to mean the balancing of the masculine and feminine or the balancing of opposites-through action-yoking.

At Thrive, Hatha Yoga classes honor the tradition of yoga in the practice of asanas (postures), breathing (pranayama) and relaxation (mindfulness).
